Decide what you want, as if you want to lose weight to please your boyfriend or society, you will be under stress all the time. Obesity will become worse only if its permanent, but if you start noticing it you will be able to deal with it. Don’t try to run for surgery as it’s not the only solution, the weight you have gained in years will take some time to leave you. Do everything you can, diet, exercise, motivation and affirmations. Once you are successful, your body will be free from toxins and disease that you have. Eventually, you will become fresh, fit and confident.

However, healthy fat is important for your body, but avoid junk food on a daily basis. You can have burgers or soft drinks only occasionally. grilled vegetables for weight loss

Every vegetable needs different grilling time; so to make grilling easier for you, I am giving you the list of vegetables and their grilling time.

10 minutes for:

  • Carrots, small whole, partially cooked, i.e. cook it in boiling water for 5 to 10 minutes before grilling.
  • Cherry tomatoes, whole
  • Mushrooms, whole
  • Onions, cut into 1-inch slices
  • Potatoes, cut into 1-inch wedges, partially cooked

15 minutes for:

  • Bell peppers cut into 1- inch strips
  • Eggplant, cut into ¾- inch slices
  • Green beans, whole
  • Patty pan squash, whole
  • Zucchini, cut into ¾-inch pieces

20 minutes for:

  • Asparagus spears, whole
  • Broccoli spear, cut in lengthwise in half
  • Cauliflowers cut in lengthwise in half
  • Corn on the cob, husked and wrapped in aluminum foil if desired

It’s very easy as all you need is a fresh herb that can enhance food’s flavor.

  • Olive Oil should be 8 tablespoons
  • Garlic oil 8 tablespoons
  • 2 tablespoons of any herb or a combination like, tarragon, dill rosemary, thyme, marjoram, oregano, or basil, all mixed together. You can use any herb available, but it should be fresh.
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper should be freshly ground

Mix oils, herbs, salt and pepper, then apply it to the vegetables with a brush. Leave it for two hours; in case of meat leave it for longer or overnight, refrigerating it. You can use the left over marinade while grilling. This marinade can be used for vegetables, beef, poultry and fish. You can marinate 2 to 3 pounds with it. If you don’t like garlic oil then use only olive oil.

Garlic oil

You can make garlic oil and store it for later use. See, below how you can make it at home.

  • One cup of olive oil.
  • 5 cloves of garlic that should be peeled

First of all you need to shred the cloves with knife, then take oil in a jar and put garlic in it, refrigerating this oil by covering properly. You can use it within two weeks; but make it at least two or three days before grilling the food.

Marinade tips

  • Always marinate food in a non-metal dish.
  • Acid marinades such as those with lemon juice and vinegar can react with some metals. like aluminum and causes off flavors in the food.
  • Over marinating cause mushy texture in the meat.

  • When  weight increases, the chances of type 2 diabetes become more than any other disease. Diabetes can make our body a center of many diseases, including heart attack, eye problems and kidney disease, etc. Children of diabetic parents are more vulnerable to this disease; hence they should have healthy lifestyle.
  • There are more chances of high blood pressure with obesity. According to a research, 25 percent of high blood pressure patients have obesity. So, the doctors always recommend exercise and natural diet to such patients.
  • The most serious issue caused by obesity is that of heart, the arteries get blocked and the heart becomes week, especially if you are also diabetic. Likewise, people with fat belly are more at a risk of heart disease.
  • Excessive fat also causes obstructive sleep apnea; a respiratory disease due to which breathing ceases while sleeping. So, the brain gets less oxygen, causing poor memory, hypertension and lack of concentration.
  • Obesity also causes high cholesterol, increasing LDL or bad cholesterol, and it causes heart disease.
  • Overweight causes acid re flux, also known as GORD (gastro oesophageal re flux disease). In this disease, the acid goes to esophagus from the stomach, that’s why you feel heart burning.
  • Obesity effects joints, causing gout; your ankles, toes and knees as well as other joints get affected. Uric acid increases in the joints, causing severe pain.
  • Obese people are more at risk of fatal disease like bowel, breast and esophageal cancer. Hence, avoid junk or fatty foods, and do regular workouts.
  • Sometimes an overweight person feels difficult to breathe while walking, that’s a sure sign of heart issue or diabetes or hypertension. Such person should see the doctor as soon as possible, whereas the regular exercise can make things better.

Weight loss recipe of Grilled chicken fajitas with plum sauce

chicken fajita 

 Ingredients

  • About ¼ cup lime juice
  • 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon of chili powder
  • I pound of boneless and skinless chicken breast cut into halves as 4×1/4-inch strips
  • 1onion of medium size, about ¼-inch slices
  • 8 tortillas made with flour
  • 1 cup of salsa
  • If required, ½ cup of guacamole

Process

First mix lime juice along with oil and chili powder in a shallow dish that should be nonmetal.  Put chicken and onion in the mixture for coating.  Then, cover the dish and place it in refrigerator, the time can be from 1 hour to 24 hours.

The second step is to Heat coals or you can use gas grill, then take out chicken and onion from the marinade; you can keep the leftover marinade. Now grill the chicken and onion on a grill grate that should be greased, putting pieces 4 to 6 inches apart for 8 to 10 minutes. Keep on brushing chicken frequently with marinade, turning once, and repeat the process until chicken completely grilled. Remove the remaining marinade, and put one-eighth of grilled onion and chicken on tortillas. Then, Fold tortilla by overlapping both ends. You can use salsa for topping along with guacamole.

 Plum Sauce: 

  • 1 cup plums
  • 2 or 3 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon honey
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Method

Boil plums in a pan with 2 cups of water until they become soft like puree.. Mix sugar in the puree until the sauce becomes thick. Then pour some salt and pepper as you want. You can also make this sauce using any other fruit including strawberry, cherries, or mangoes, etc. Likewise you can reduce the amount of sugar. In case of raw mangoes, boil them in water twice, removing water and then finally cook them in one cup of water, adding sugar, salt, and black pepper as required.

images  Grilled food is the best choice in a weight loss plan and most people use grilled recipes for this purpose. Grilling should be done carefully to get well cooked food, and here I am sharing some grilling tips with my readers.

Grilling tips

Weather factors: Grilling time vary with different climates and weather conditions. When grilling in cool and windy weather, use slightly longer heating times as well as higher heat to speed the cooking.

Charcoal readiness: in daylight coals are ready for grilling when they are about 80 percent ashy gray because bright red coals are too hot, black coals are too cool, and a mix of red and black coals give off uneven heat.

Microwave-to-grill-cooking: to speed up summer cooking, combine the talents of your grill with those of your microwave. As a general rule, microwave foods for half of their total microwave time if they are to finish cooking on the grill. Then, grill for half the time recommended in the grill recipe, using the doneness test from the recipe as the final guide.

Grilling sauces:  to prevent over browning or burning of meats, brush on sauces during the last 15 to 20 minutes of grilling, especially those that contain tomatoes or sugar.

Indirect grilling: it’s a process where food is cooked over a drip pan and not directly over the heat source. It’s a slow method of cooking because less heat is provided. Use it for large pieces of poultry, meat, fish or fatty foods to get more even cooking.

Grill baskets: a hinged wire grill basket is especially helpful for grilling delicate foods, such as fish and small pieces of foods, like cut-up vegetables. If you don’t have a grill basket, try improvising by wiring two metal cooking racks together.

Marinades: if you want to serve a leftover marinade or brushing sauce with the grill meat, heat it to boiling, then boil for one minute, stirring constantly. Boiling will destroy any bacteria that may have been transferred on the brush from the raw meat to the marinade, otherwise discard the sauce or marinade.

Skewers: Metal skewers that are a square shaped help keep food from turning or spinning when skewers are turned. If you are using bamboo or wooden skewers, be sure to soak them in water at least thirty minutes before using them to prevent brushing.

Flavor enhances: Enhance the grilled flavor of foods by adding aromatic wood chips to the fire or heat source. Soak wood chips in water for at least thirty minutes, then drain and scatter on hot coals or lava rocks. A handful of chips would be enough, but the amount can be adjusted according to the package directions and personal preference.

  • Another workout with the same position as knees bent and lying on the back, but put your hands under your neck as it will support the head. Press lower back to floor, lifting shoulders and head off the floor. You can repeat it 10 or 15 times, and when you become strong, you can make it a bit harder than before by lifting your feet off the ground. All such muscle exercises will flatten your belly.
  • You can use various things for workout, like a bench; by lying down with feet on floor and hold your child over your belly; in this position breath in and out. While inhaling you can pull the abs inside. You can repeat it as many times as you want depending on your tolerance.
  • Ball exercise is very common for the tummy; ball crunches are just like other crunches, however you need to get balanced and the moves are more challenging than other workouts. However, some women don’t like this exercise; hence they can go for Pilates or yoga, which are equally helpful in losing weight.
  • Simple walk on a regular basis will also help a lot; you can walk for as long as you can tolerate. It will reduce blotting, so you won’t have fat belly.
